Third trimester
We're in the last and final trimester! As of Sunday, we are 27 weeks along (the beginning of the 7th month).
Predictably, I have new symptoms this week. Instead of back pain, I now have heart burn and am extremely tired. I feel as tired as I did in the first trimester (i.e., I get to work at 8:00, and at 8:10 I feel like Vaseline is rubbed all over my eyelides and inside my eyes, my head feels like it weighs 50 pounds and my neck is about as strong as a blade of grass.) I am trying different things like a cup of fresh hot chocolate, or a decaf latte with an inch of caffeinated coffee thrown in for good measure. I've even tried eating an apple, which I heard is supposed to be good for waking up the senses. I've tried going for a walk. I've tried doing my work. I've tried extra large breakfasts. Nothing works!

The baby is moving around a lot. This is supposed to be the month when the baby's movements are felt the most... he is big and strong enough to have a powerful baby punch, but not so big that he is cramped within the uterus and can't move. I feel little movements all day, but mostly early morning and late at night. I still can't identify exactly which body part is jabbing me. I assume they are elbows and little fists. Some of it just feels like movement, though, like he is changing position. It's all very cute.

Someone at work asked me the other day if I was having twins. I said no. She asked if I was sure I wasn't having twins. Someone else remarked that i looked big, then asked how much weight I had gained (HA!). I love how the rules of etiquette change when someone is pregnant.
