2/16/06 -- 37 weeks!

I can't believe I am 3 weeks (and 1 day) away from my due date! Although 38 weeks is considered full-term, 37 weeks is the point at which they won't try to stop labor from progressing once it starts.

The thought suddenly occurred to both of us how soon 3 weeks is... we aren't packed yet, aren't done fixing up the baby's room, haven't bought a glider or winter clothes yet, and just don't really feel ready.

We did take a lamaze class last weekend, and that helped. Even if I don't use the breathing exercises, it helped prepare us mentally.

My delivery with Evan was only 8 hours from start to finish. My doctors and the lamaze lady all say the second delivery is usually half that amount of time. So that means once I start feeling contractions, I won't sit on the couch and count them for an hour... I'll just go to the hospital. That means I gotta be ready!!

At my last appointment, baby was in the head-down position and facing the right way. That was a relief. Doctor said that, although my basketball-shaped tummy looked big, the baby felt small to average. She predicts 7 to 8 pounds! I really like her.
