Isaac's first step!
He took a step today.
I was holding a new little daycare baby, feeding her a bottle. I had Isaac inside the castle house thingy so that he wouldn't lie on top of her or pull her hair while I was feeding her. It was working well - just a foot away, he was watching us and smiling and playing peek-a-boo with me. But then after a few minutes, he got bored, so he started to yell loudly. Each time he did this, the baby girl practically jumped out of her skin.
So I took him out of the castle hoping he would play with other toys. Instead, he pulled himself to a standing position and stood there for a few moments. He was looking at the baby girl with great interest, like he wanted to do something to her. I could also tell by the way he was standing there that he wanted to move forward. So I twisted my body away from his, putting her more out of reach... and then he took a clumsy little step forward and tumbled into me! All with the goal of squishing that little apricot baby head.
Awwww... so sweet! He had no idea he had done anything special.
