Baby movements
The baby is moving a lot, kicking me in organs I didn't know I had. These are nice reminders that he is active and has a sense of humor.
I injured my shoulder a couple weeks ago and had to call my mom in to help with the daycare. Thanks to physical therapy and massage, I am recovered enough to (carefully) lift kids in my daycare, and she is returning home. I'll miss her and the clean floors and dishes.
Evan had a week of sickness that made him very needy and difficult. It made me worry how he'll be when the baby comes. Oh my gosh -- he is going to freak out. This is just now dawning on me. I'm scared.
In medical news, I passed my diabetes test. I was worried because during my pregnancy with Evan, on several occassions I failed the first tests, but then passed the second (fasting) tests, leading my doctors to believe that I'm borderline. This time I've somehow cleared the hurdle. I attribute it to the cheese and high protein stuff I've been eating, though no less ice cream than before (it still has protein!). Everything else at my appointments have been good. I am measuring a little smaller with this baby than with Evan, which is hard to believe... it looks like the baby is standing on my spine, with his head at a 90 degree angle from my body... my belly is actually pointy, accented by the belly button. Anyway, the doctor said that at my 20 week ultrasound, baby was in the 40th percentile for length. I am hoping for a small, petite little baby. Evan was 9 1/2 pounds.
It's almost Christmas! We're going to buy a tree tomorrow and let Evan decorate it. :)
