Isaac 8.5 months
New things Isaac is doing:
I sat him on my lap to put his socks on. When he saw the sock, he lifted his foot. He looks excited whenever Jerry or I walk in the front door.
When I sing to him before bedtime, he says "ahhhhhh," like he is singing along. I also grab his blue teddy bear and hold it in my other arm, and he nuzzles his face in it.
When he wakes up and cries, he stands in his crib and looks down at the door crack. As soon as he sees it open, he smiles. He is always looking down when I peek in at him. Maybe he sees the sunlight on the carpet as the door opens (?)
After Evan and Isaac "wrestle" and Evan is done, Isaac will crawl over to him and headbutt him, hoping for more.
He will play independently for a minute, crawl over to me like I'm the best thing ever, then immediately try to get away from me to go play again. He cries when I leave the room.
When he is bored, he says "ma ma ma ma."
He still blows raspberries.
He is impossible to change (clothes/diaper). He just wants to roll away from us and escape.
When we wave, he stares at our hands like it's the best thing ever. Sometimes he slowly moves his fingers.
A few weeks ago, he got the beginning of a tooth (bottom left). It looks sharp and kinda crooked.
He frequently crawls over to me and "kisses" my cheek. He just plants his open mouth there, always while saying "ahhh." Today I was looking straight at him, and he leaned around to the side of my face so that he could kiss my cheek.
He adores Evan. If I am holding Isaac and he sees Evan, I have to stop him from jumping out of my arms to get to him.

He loves to pose for the camera.

Isaac 8 months
A few weeks ago, Isaac started pulling himself to a standing position. He pulls himself up to the fireplace landing and holds himself there, looking around all proud-like. He isn't cruising yet. His goal now is to try to pull himself up using every surface, toy, and living thing in the house.



He is also crawling "correctly," up on all floors with his tummy off the ground. He no longer looks like an army guy in combat.



Just now, Jerry looked at Isaac and started singling a song that went, "la la la," and Isaac started repeating him. He said, "la la la da da da..."

The other day I was holding him and patting his back, trying to calm him down for a nap. He very slowly but deliberately started patting my shoulder. Like twenty times.

He loves to eat real peas in his high chair. He just crams them in by the fistful. He also loves rice cereal. He hates carrots.

Jerry was Napoleon Dynamite (80's nerd) and I was the nerdier girlfriend. Our picts are too realistic for me to post. Really, we look pretty bad. Or good, depending on how you look at it. The kids' pictures look cute, though.
