Tempermental!
14 mos.
Suddenly, Isaac is acting like a two-year-old. He says, "nooooo" all the time (with his lips held into a perfect "o" for a few seconds). He says quite a few words, but if I prompt him to say a word (if it is my idea), then he will automatically say no. Example:
Isaac (wants out of chair): AAAUUUGGGHHH!
Me: All done? All done? Can you say all done?
Isaac: Nooooo.
So I go back to loading the dishwasher.
Isaac: AAAUUUGGGHHH!
Me: All done? Want up?
Isaac: Noooo.
Tantrums.
Isaac tried to open the stair gate to get upstairs, and I reached over him and locked it. He burst into tears with his back arched, still holding onto the gate. He looked over at me and I put my arms out to offer a hug, he said, "no," and then turned his back on me. He actually stood there with his back to me while he continued to cry.
Everytime I wash his hands in the sink, he loves it. But at some point, it has to end. As soon as I put the towel to his hands, he realizes handwashing time is over, and bursts into tears. When I put him down, he lies flat on his stomach, face-down, and cries for a few minutes.
Anytime I have to move him, switch activites, or take something away, he lies flat on his tummy and screams. It doesn't seem like he is trying to manipulate me or get attention -- he is just genuinely too upset to handle his emotions. He used to be so laid back! I didn't know the Two's could happen so early. I'm kind of scared.
New words.
Here 'go.
All done ("a da")
Dad ("da")
Thank you ("ta ta")
Andrea ("aaaan-ee-aa")
Oh, that's another thing. He calls me Andrea. It goes something like this:
Isaac: Aaannn-ee-aaa!
Me: Mommy?
Isaac: Aaannneeaa
Me: Mommy.
Isaac: Aaaannneeeaaa.
Me: Mommy. Mommy!!
Not sure where Evan heard this.
Today Evan wanted his Etch-A-Sketch back from his friend, and he kept asking for his "computer" back. His friend said he wasn't done with it yet. Evan said, "mommy, Austin won't share the computer with me." I said, "It's not your turn now." And he said, "But mommy, my email is on his computer."
